Detroit is the largest city of Michigan. It's not the capital of the state, which is the city of Lansing. Detroit is located in Wayne County at the shores of the river between Lake Erie and Lake Saint Clair lake. Currently 680,000 citizens live in downtown and midtown Detroit. The agglomeration has 5,2 million people. Detroit is part of the Rust Belt, and the famous Motown music was produced here which derived from the French Porte-Manteau (motor and town).
