Welcome to Perky's Analog Gear Demos. Please subscribe for more demos of vintage & rare effects pedals!
You may have seen my video a couple of months back demoing my new (/old!) Danelectro U2 '56 Reissue. I took it straight out of the box, swapped the strings and shot the demo...phew!
I loved this guitar - and still do. But as time has gone on, a few things about it have been bugging me.
So - it's time for some upgrades. Actually, not just 'some'...I'm going to upgrade absolutely everything!
Now, armed with a set of Curtis Novak's amazing Lipstick pickups, some NOS capacitors, new pots/wiring/switch and a bridge that you can actually intonate....how much better does it now sound?
What do you think? Do you prefer the sound before or after? And why? Comment below!
Guitar recorded through a Hughes & Kettner Puretone Combo (recorded with an sE Electronics RNR1 Ribbon) and a Cornell Romany Plus (recorded with a 57)
