The Jackson County Fair began yesterday amidst 100-degree temperatures.
There are misting tents, covered tables and indoor areas with air conditioners available.
Fair organizers said giving people and animals a place to get out of the sun is a big priority this year.
"I would guess we have doubled the lineal feet of misters up," Jackson County Expo manager Dave Kollermeier said. "(We have) double the number of food and beverage and misters up."
Pigs and cows with 4-H also have high-powered fans and misters to help cool down.
