The Ibaloi mummies, placed in caves in central Luzon between the 10th and 18th centuries, are a significant part of Philippine heritage. These mummies, located near Kabayan, 200 miles north of Manila, are currently threatened by logging, vandalism, and rodents. In 1998, the World Monuments Fund recognized the urgency of their preservation by listing the Kabayan caves among the World's 100 Most Endangered Sites.
