What can you make from a plastic bottle? Tons of things including FREE tools and FREE parts for projects. Today I will walk you through how to use a plastic bottle to make a switch (on / off switch) to use with battery operated items. A fun project for makers; all parts in this project are easily salvaged or re-purposed from other items you can commonly find around the house. In fact, all you need is a plastic bottle with a screw cap and some wire and you can make your own MacGyver - like power switch. I have experimented with this one for many years and have used all kinds of wire and found that what works best is finer gauge copper solid core wire for the main connections and a larger gauge copper wire for the connector piece (this will make much more sense when you see the video). In this video, however, I used braided wire for the main connections just to show how easily this can be made even if you are not using solid copper core wire.
At the end of the video I demonstrate the use of the switch for operating LEDs with 3v of power from AAA batteries and then I pull out the 9v and run my prototype turbine fan made from a coke can and a re-purposed DC motor. [NOTE: the motor came from a salvage video called "What's Inside an Electric Stapler - Free DC Motor & More" ([ Ссылка ])].
In future videos I will show many more creative ways to use plastic bottles for FREE tools and Free parts. If you want you can also check my previous videos for some other creative ways to reuse your plastic bottles:
