Sigiriya, often hailed as the 8th wonder of the world, is one of Sri Lanka's most remarkable sites. This ancient city sits atop a monolithic rock that rises 650 feet above the town of Dambulla in the Matale District. Recognized as a UNESCO heritage site since 1982, Sigiriya draws thousands of visitors each day.
