Schlepplifte sind seit über einem Jahrhundert ein fester Bestandteil der Seilbahnwelt. Wintersportler schätzen das Transportmittel seit jeher zur Vermeidung mühsamer Aufstiege vor der nächsten Abfahrt im Pulverschnee. Und auch wenn Schlepplifte heute immer häufiger komfortableren Sesselbahnen und Kabinenbahnen weichen müssen, sind sie noch immer weltweit in grosser Stückzahl im Einsatz. Viele von ihnen gleichen sich, doch manche stechen aus der Masse heraus. Der Schlepplift Hohstock auf der Belalp im Wallis ist der vielleicht herausragendste von allen. Nicht nur wegen seiner spektakulären Trassierung bis in über 3000 Meter Höhe, sondern vor allem auch wegen seiner einmaligen Technik. Doch was macht ausgerechnet diesen Schlepplift so besonders?
