Since the closure of Australian vehicle manufacturing, its value is steadily increasing.
1950 Hillman Minx
45,000 Miles (No idea if its clicked over before).
Drivable and registered as a daily. (brakes might need a bleed though, have spares).
Column shift manual 4 speed.
All original, hand built in the rootes factory in Port Melbourne (assembly lines began 4 years later in '54).
Original hand made/forged tools.
Still has the original pull out turn signals.
Can be hand cranked/started.
Rebuilt Carby, starter and dizzy.
Box of spare parts, seals, boots and manuals etc.
(seals for hub, wheel, axel casing, diff etc)
Has a bit of surface rust, flaking paint and the interior unfortunately has a couple of tears and such, but it is a 70 year old, unmolested beauty at the end of the day.
She drives like a tug boat but purrs like a kitten.
Bought it a few years ago (I think their parents bought it originally) as a bit of a summer car with the intentions of tidying her up a bit but in reality shes basically just sat in the garage for years, occasionally going for a drive.
May consider part exchange for builders labour.. ( I need a hand finishing up the house reno's)
She deserves a better life then that of which I can offer
