Shivaji Pandey, Director of FAO's Plant Production and Protection Division, explains the importance of plant genetic resources for agriculture.

In this video Dr. Pandey talks about countries dependence on genetic resources generated outside their borders and on the consensus obtained by the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture as a major achievement. He also talks about climate change and how farmers are affected by these changes and how the Treaty is assisting them in the field to conserve their traditional crops.
