The "trad wife" (aka "traditional wife”) lifestyle content on TikTok has sparked controversy recently, with some saying it's propaganda.
While there are several ways that women have taken on the title of #tradwife since it first became popularized on social media, the general gist remains the same: A tradwife is a woman who trades feminism and gender equality for a more “traditional” gendered role: staying home, keeping house, having children, and being generally subservient to her husband.
But many have questioned if this is what we should be idealizing because women will be heavily reliant on their husbands for financial stability.
