2月20日は仲の良い友だちの節目の誕生日。
彼女の旦那さまがサプライズで計画し、北イタリアのあちこちから女性１６人がミラノに集まりみんなでお祝いしました。彼女が知ったのは前日夜だったそうです。
当日私は、レッジョ・エミリアの高速鉄道の駅からイタロを使ってミラノ往復しました。
モデナの駅は、停車する高速鉄道の数が少なく、またトレニタリアとイタロで比較したところ、イタロの方が価格が若干安かったので、この選択になりました。
レッジョ・エミリアには二つの駅、普通列車がメインで旧市街に近いReggio Emilia駅と郊外にあり高速列車のみ停車のReggio Emilia AV Mediopadana駅とがあります。
この二つの駅はかなり距離があるので、電車を予約する際には注意が必要です。私が使ったのはこのMediopadanaの方の駅です。
この駅をプロジェクトしたのはスペイン人のカラトラヴァ氏。

ニューヨークのワールドトレードセンタートランスポーテーションハブも彼のプロジェクトです。
動画に一つだけですが少し出てくるレッジョ・エミリアにある三つの橋もこの方が手がけていて、高速道路でこの付近を通ると、美しいこの駅とこの三つの橋を見ることができます。
この美しい駅からミラノまでは電車で５０分程度。あっという間。
電車の中では電車は定刻で運行していますや時速何キロで走行中など表示がありました。定刻の表示は日本では当たり前すぎて、きっと表示されないのではないかと思います。
ミラノの滞在時間は約５時間、そしてお祝いランチがメインでだったので、ミラノで駆け足で見れたのは：

* スカラ座
* ブレーラ地区
* モンテナポレオーネ通り
レッジョ・エミリアから電車で１時間弱で行けるので、今度はゆっくりミラノを周りたいです。

The 20th of February was birthday for a good friend of mine.
Her husband organised a surprise for her and 16 women from different cities of northern Italy gathered in Milan to celebrate together. She only heard about it the night before.
On the day I took the Italo from the Reggio Emilia high speed train station to Milan and back.
I chose this option because there are only a few high speed trains stopping at Modena station and because the price of the Italo was slightly cheaper than the Trenitalia.
There are two train stations in Reggio Emilia: Reggio Emilia, which is the main station for regular trains and is close to the city centre, and Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana, which is on the outskirts of the town and only serves high-speed trains.
These two stations are quite far apart, so please be careful when booking your train.
I used Reggio Emilia A.V. Mediopadana station.
The project for this station was carried out by the Spanish architect Calatrava.

He worked for many of the most famous buildings in the world.
The World Trade Center Transportation Hub in New York is also a project of his.
He also worked for the three bridges of Reggio Emilia, which appear briefly in the video. If you pass by this area on the motorway, you can see this beautiful station and these three bridges.
From this beautiful station you can reach Milan by train in about 50 minutes.
On the train, there were signs saying that the train was running on time and at what speed. I am sure that in Japan they don't display this information because it is so normal to being on time in Japan.
As we were only in Milan for about 5 hours and the main event was a celebratory lunch, we only managed to see a few things in Milan.

* Brera district
* Via Montenapoleone
It takes less than an hour to arrive in Milan from Reggio Emilia by train, so next time I want to spend longer time in Milan.
