Therapist talks about how having a baseline belief of being unworthy often keeps people stuck in toxic and abusive relationships. She discusses that in a way to keep us from struggling further our brain will often try to make the best out of a bad situation by telling us sweet lies that make the bad situation seem less toxic. If we don't believe we are worthy of better our brains will try to make the best of what currently is, even if it's unhealthy. We have to stop drinking the Kool-Aid and find a way to allow our brains to find ways out of the situation instead of keeping us content while in the situation.
