Why Do We Standardized Test? And How to Beat the System
Some people say that we test more than we teach. And teachers are told to not teach to the test…but then are told that the tests are how their performance will be evaluated. So teachers feel pressured to have students do well on standardized tests, and embarrassed when they don't.
And to make matters worse, students see tests as more of a punishment for their deficiencies rather than a celebration of their learning. So I am going to share with you the history behind how standardized testing came to be, and tell you what you can do to beat the system.
