Fourier GR-1 humanoid robot to the Boston Dynamics Atlas
Capabilities: Both robots exhibit advanced motion control capabilities and versatility in performing human-like movements. However, Atlas has been prominently featured in videos showcasing its dynamic locomotion skills, including parkour, backflips, and other acrobatics. In contrast, while the GR-1 emphasizes capabilities such as obstacle avoidance, multi-terrain adaptability, and manipulation, it may not showcase the same level of dynamic mobility as Atlas.
Degrees of Freedom (DoFs): Atlas boasts 28 hydraulic joints, providing it with a high degree of flexibility and range of motion. In comparison, the Fourier GR-1 offers up to 54 DoFs distributed across its body, potentially allowing for more nuanced and complex movements.
Hardware: Atlas features a combination of hydraulic actuators and state-of-the-art hardware, contributing to its impressive performance in dynamic tasks. On the other hand, the Fourier GR-1 incorporates high-performance FSA actuators, providing precise execution of movements with a peak torque output of 230N.m.
