Welcome to my YouTube Channel, which primarily specializes in do-it-yourself projects from vehicle repair to woodworking. The current video shows you how to repair a rearview mirror after the adhesive drys out, allowing the mirror to tumble off the windshield. I used a Permatex mirror adhesive kit, part number 09102, that I bought at a local Walmart; however, other brand kits will also work. Furthermore, the procedure is easy to accomplish even without much experience working on cars. For your convenience, I have included time stamps below.
1. From 00:00 to 00:22, the video's subject is introduced with a quick look at the mirror adhesive kit and the rearview mirror.
2. From 00:23 to 00:38, the windshield is marked with masking tape on the outside to ensure the mirror is correctly positioned upon installation.
3. From 00:39 to 01:21, the Permatex part number 09102 rearview mirror kit is opened, and the contents are shown.
4. From 01:22 to 02:25, the old dried-out mirror adhesive is removed from the windshield.
5. From 02:26 to 02:52, the mirror button is removed from the mirror.
6. From 02:53 to 03:48, the mirror button is sanded to remove all traces of the old adhesive.
7. From 03:49 to 05:05, the windshield and the mirror button are cleaned using alcohol pads included in the mirror adhesive kit.
8. From 05:06 to 05:55, the mirror activator is applied to the windshield and mirror button.
9. From 05:56 to 07:13, one drop of the mirror adhesive is applied to the mirror button, and the button is firmly held against the windshield until the bond is set.
10. From 07:14 to 07:32, the mirror is installed on the button.
11. From 07:33 to 8:00, the masking tape installed earlier is removed, and the mirror sensor is plugged back into the mirror electrical socket.
Thank you for watching.
