Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu inspects implementation of state defence order at Progress helicopter plant in Arsenyev, Primorsky Krai, which produces Ka-52 helicopters
'The modernised Ka-52M helicopter received new radar and sighting systems, as well as armament with significantly increased characteristics. In the final assembly shop we are working not only on the production of new machines, but also on the modification of helicopters that perform tasks in the special military operation zone. The work is carried out within the framework of the life cycle contract,' told Director of the enterprise Sergei Shamshura to the Minister.
The Defence Minister was also introduced to the training complex, with the help of which pilots are trained in the nuances of piloting and use of radio electronics of Ka-52M.
The combat capabilities of Ka-52M helicopters need to be improved and the pilots' protection needs to be increased, the Defence Minister pointed out to the plant's management during the meeting.
▫️ 'In 2023 for Progress Aircraft Plant in Arsenyev the volume of the state defence order implementation has doubled in comparison with the previous year. The priority, of course, is now given to the production of machines for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The tasks are fulfilled ahead of a schedule, we are ahead of it,' reported the Director of Progress helicopter plant to the Minister.
▫️ The head of the enterprise noted that in 2023 a reserve will be made for 2024 in order to guarantee fulfilment of the defence order.
