DOUGH
75 ml milk
7 gr instant yeast (1 tablespoon)
25 gr white caster sugar
16 gr vanilla sugar (2 packets)
150 gr vanilla custard
1 egg (m)
45 gr unsalted butter
450 gr all-purpose flour
16 gr baking powder
4 gr salt (⅔ teaspoon)

Take a deep bowl and combine the milk, yeast, vanilla sugar, and white caster sugar. Mix well and let the mixture rest for 5 minutes. Add the vanilla custard and mix everything until smooth. Gradually add the beaten egg while stirring. Then add the unsalted butter, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix everything into a cohesive dough and knead it for 10-12 minutes.
Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place or until the dough doubles in size.
Transfer the dough onto a floured work surface and roll it out into a square sheet.
Cut the dough into pieces using a pizza cutter or a knife and let it rise for 30 minutes, or until the dough doubles in size again.
Heat a layer of sunflower oil in a frying pan over medium heat (175 ℃). Fry the vanilla donuts until both sides are golden brown. Drain the donuts on a sheet of kitchen paper.
If you like, you can also coat the vanilla donuts in granulated sugar before serving.
