Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers at a nest-site in the Clyne Valley, Swansea, Wales, U.K. Filmed on May 23rd, 2018.
I've only seen the rare Lesser Spotted Woodpecker a couple of times, so I felt incredibly fortunate to stumble upon a nest-site in the woods near my house as I was walking home yesterday evening. I sneaked down at lunchtime today to get this brief clip of the male and female changing place in the next, which they did about every twenty minutes. They obviously have eggs in the next. There may be only around 2,000 of this declining species in the whole of the U.K. Unfortunately, there is no sound, as my camera's internal microphones are not working.
