IOWA CITY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Something good is brewing at the Java House, because when it's this cold outside a Cup of Joe can cure all.They're trying to warm up their hands on a cup of coffee and chat and get together and get in the holiday spirit, said Shereena Honary, a manager with the Java House.Honary says the Java House may be one of the places people look to this weekend for warmth.When you just step into a coffee shop, you just feel the warmness of the environment and it just takes your mind off things, student Mahmoud Metwali said. There is a world, albeit a cold one, outside of the coffee shop. In that world there is Hawkeye football to be played, however some are staying away from Kinnick.I am actually going to Galena with some friends and we're gonna walk around the town area, Metwali said.Others aren't even taking a chance outside.I'm going home to Cedar Falls where I'm from to see my parents actually, Honary said.
