This movie introduces IP/RT-QuIC that enables the detection of serum pathogenic alpha-Synunlein (aSyn) seeds. The detected aSyn seeds proved a useful diagnostic biomarker for synucleinopathy. Furthermore, the amplified aSyn seeds by IP/RT-QuIC maintain their disease-specific morphological properties, allowingthe distinction between synucleinopathies.
Japan started a Brain Mapping by Integrated Neurotechnologies for Disease Studies (Brain/MINDS) in 2014. Brain/MINDS supported by AMED aims to elucidate the neural networks controlling higher brain functions using non-human primate models (marmosets), to gain new insights into information processing and diseases of the human brain.
AMED「革新的技術による脳機能ネットワークの全容解明プロジェクト（革新脳）」によって実施された、患者の血清中のαシヌクレインシードを簡便に検出することができるIP/RT-QuIC法をご紹介します。検出したαシヌクレインシードは、シヌクレイノパチー診断の有用なバイオマーカになることを示しました。また、増幅したαシヌクレイン凝集体は疾患ごとに異なる構造を保持しており、シヌクレイノパチーの中での疾患の鑑別も可能です。
革新脳は、2014年にスタートした日本の脳研究プロジェクトで、非ヒト霊長類モデル（マーモセット）を用いて高次脳機能を制御する神経ネットワークを解明し、ヒトの脳の情報処理や疾患に関する新たな知見を得ることを目的としています。
