All right you wonderful people! Now that I've gotten some time to dedicate to the channel, I am going to upload an alternative source to a show that is quite popular among Queen live fans - the AM broadcast to the third Buenos Aires show! This was requested by some people - so I hope I make some people happy with this upload! The quality of this source is pretty good (although the speed sometimes fluctuates throughout) and is musically complete!
This show wasn't originally on Queen's touring schedule. The band originally had two Buenos Aires shows on the tour itinerary, but the popularity of Queen in general led to this show being added! Out of the three Buenos Aires shows Queen played - this is probably the best one overall: The atmosphere is amazing (it's heard much better on the audience source of this show), the performances are generally tight, and Freddie's vocal performance is good overall! This is one of my personal favorite shows on this leg of the tour - which makes this upload really great to show to everybody!
About the band member performances - the playing is generally tight (much better than 2/28, but not nearly as tight as 3/1 - although the band seem more playful on this show and less "safe") and Freddie is overall in great voice. He starts off a bit conservative on songs, but gets into the groove a few songs into the show. Although towards the end of the show, his voice tires out a bit - leading to rough moments throughout songs. He is pretty creative and daring throughout the set - showcasing interesting phrasing on songs like "Somebody To Love" and demonstrating his lyric goofs on "Need Your Loving Tonight." Overall - this show deserves some love! Now… song analysis time!
"Jailhouse Rock" is a solid performance overall, "We Will Rock You" has John Deacon screwing around during the bass solo (it sounds pretty amusing), "Let Me Entertain You" sounds pretty good with Freddie nailing 2/4 "tain you" parts in the original octave, "Play The Game" has Freddie sounding a tad rough in spots - but does creative phrasing throughout the song and sings the bridge strongly, "Somebody To Love" is one of my favorite performances on the show with Freddie demonstrating some fantastic singing throughout (the intro is awesome, the bridge has the Bb4 on "everybody," and the outro has great high notes and creativity in the vocal phrasing). The only major blemish is Brian goofing up the beginning of the guitar solo (similar to the first Sao Paulo show - although not nearly as bad). "I'm In Love With My Car" is the typical solid performance - although Freddie ad-libs "yes he is" after Roger sings the title of the song in the chorus, "Get Down Make Love" has Freddie singing more conservatively in the first parts of the song - but really goes for the higher notes towards the end, "Need Your Loving Tonight" is hilarious and possibly the worst version of the song as Freddie makes up lyrics throughout the performance, and "Save Me" is a pretty good performance overall (although Freddie has a couple rough spots at the end)!
"Now I'm Here" is pretty good overall, "Dragon Attack" has a few off moments by Freddie, but is generally a good version, "Fat Bottomed Girls" is a really good performance overall, "Love Of My Life" is one of the best versions of the year as it has an amazing audience atmosphere and Freddie's soothing vocals are wonderful, "Keep Yourself Alive" is a good version overall, "Flash" has strong Freddie vocals, but the performance has moments of sloppiness from the band, "The Hero" is very good overall, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" sounds great, "Bohemian Rhapsody" has a slight rough moment in the first verse by Freddie but otherwise is a really good performance overall of the song, "Tie Your Mother Down" has some rough Freddie vocals in spots, "Another One Bites The Dust" isn't the strongest version has Freddie has a bit of trouble with the song in spots (although the improv section has great music to make up for that), "Sheer Heart Attack" is pretty good overall, "We Will Rock You" has Freddie hitting off notes in the first verse (he goes for the original melody and misses the phrasing by a half step), does interesting phrasing in the second verse, and then does conservative phrasing in the last verse - what a weird version! "We Are The Champions" ends the show by being a strong version overall!
ENJOY!!!
Note: Gotta love the radio commentary between songs (and after the show ends). Maybe somebody can translate?
Note 2: Diego Maradona makes an appearance before "Another One Bites The Dust."
