To reach Corneria's hard path, go through the arches that are sticking out of the water. Falco will compliment your skills halfway through. Go through them all and he'll show you an alternate path through the upcoming waterfall.

Keep following the path, shooting any bogeys in your way, and then just beat the boss. This will take you to Sector Y.
