Linford Ecerio Christie (born April 2, 1960 in Saint Andrew) - Jamaican sprinter, representing Great Britain.
Olympic champion in the 100 m race (Barcelona 1992) and 2-time runner-up in the 100 m race and in the 4 × 100 m relay (Seoul 1988). World champion in the 100 meter race and runner-up in the 4 × 100 meter relay (Stuttgart 1993). Bronze medalist of the World Cup in the 100 meter race (Rome 1987) and in the 4 × 100 meter relay (Tokyo 1991). 3-time European champion in 100 meters (1986, 1990, 1994), bronze medalist of European Championships in 200 meters (1990). 3-time indoor European champion (1986 - 200 m; 1988 - 60 m; 1990 - 60 m), bronze medalist of the HME (1988 - 200 m), 2-time indoor world runner-up (1991 - 60 and 200 m). European record holder in the 100 m race (9.87 in 1993). Suspended in 1999 for illegal doping. In 2004 his European record in 100 m was broken by Portuguese Francis Obikwelu.
