Slow Temptation by Act.
Hyperbole aside, this is the most engaging movie ever made.
Kobayashi may not have the sheer volume of classics like his fellow countrymen Kurosawa and Ozu, but when he makes a banger? Fricken look out.
What's there to say about this movie? It's incredible. It's beautiful to look at, it's structure is out of this world, the performances? *chef's kiss*
It's just one of those elemental masterpieces. I love it so much. As far as straight up samurai movies go, this has to be tied with Seven Samurai as my favorite. It's just so watchable and exciting. I think if you were to try to get someone interested in classic Japanese cinema, this is where you should start.
Making the trailer was tricky. Mostly due to the fact that I wanted to be put half of the movie into the trailer. There's so many shots that I wanted, and so much story that I wanted to shove in. But. brevity. I have a bit of a concern that it's a bit spoilery? But I think only with the context having seen the whole movie...which I guess wouldn't be spoliery? Who cares!
Enjoy! I'm proud of this one!
