The Indian Air Force (IAF) on June 25 airlifted at least 96 tonnes of relief material for flood-hit Assam and Meghalaya using aerial platforms under its humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) in the region. The Air Force has been running flood relief operations in Assam since June 21. The IAF so far has flown about 74 missions, rescued 253 people and dropped over 200 tonnes of relief material in the ongoing Assam floods.
