AF is the commonest arrhythmia worldwide. It is associated with many risk factors, some of which can’t be altered such as increasing age, gender, genetics, and some that can, such as hypertension, obesity, sleep apnoea, smoking/alcohol intake. Its important for both patients and healthcare workers to be aware of these modifiable AF risk factors as these can impact AF outcomes.
