The head of the IMF is warning the economic strain caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine could ignite civil unrest in the Middle East and beyond.
Speaking at the Doha Forum on Sunday,... Kristalina Georgieva said the war and sanctions imposed on Moscow have forced the world's poorest to bear the brunt of the crisis as they grapple with severe inflation and job insecurity.
She also called for global cooperation to fill the gaps in commodity and energy supplies.
Citing Ukraine's importance as a top global wheat exporter,... the IMF chief pressed for a swift resolution to the war.
