Every week Richard Bueno Hudson, Executive Director of Instituto Cervantes New York, interviews Spaniards and Latin Americans to discuss their views on the evolution of "the city that never sleeps", their expectations, their projects, and their fears during these uncertain times.
Take a look at the preview of the conversation airing tomorrow at 6:30 pm (EST) with Alberto Ferreras, is a NY based Spanish/Venezuelan writer and director. He wrote the feature "Que Viva La Música", which was selected for the Sundance Film Festival (2015). His award-winning novel "B as in Beauty" (Hachette) was published in the U.S. Spain, and Italy in 2009. He is currently writing, directing, and producing "The Lessons by Alberto Ferreras", an award winning series of urban short films that have been shown in dozens of festivals around the world.
Author of screenplay/stage-play "Hamlet in Harlem" that was produced by Theater for The New City for a zoom audience in May 2020.
He created, executive produced and directed the HBO documentary series "Habla" (2003-2020). A new special is scheduled to premiere on HBO in 2020. He co-created the short-form bilingual animated children's series "El Perro y el Gato" for HBO Family (2004 - 2011). His short films "Verbal Sex" (1999) and "Tómbola" (1997) premiered at the Berlinale, and "Bigger" (2004) premiered at Outfest and was presented at London's B.F.I. He is currently consulting for the Smithsonian Latino Center in Washington D.C.
