Gettysburg has been known for nearly a century as one of the most haunted cities in America. One haunted house is said to hold the most legends of paranormal activity. The Jennie Wade House is stained with tragedy as the Battle of Gettysburg caused unimaginable heartache inside this building. The Wade family fled to this house for safety and found themselves trapped inside by Confederate sharpshooters who were trying to fire on the Union Army atop Cemetery Hill (behind the house). Musket Balls and artillery shells crashed into the house and the poor family trapped inside were terrified every single second as they searched for a way to safety. On the 3rd day of battle a 20 year old Jennie Wade would be making bread dough when all of their worst nightmares came to life and a rogue round entered the house and striking down poor Jennie. To this day, the story of Jennie Wade has become infamous in the town of Gettysburg and the ghost stories that this history has sparked continues to draw visitors and paranormal enthusiasts from around the world. This is one of the most haunted houses in one of the most haunted cities in America.
