Almost a month after reopening, Thailand is starting to see signs of recovery in its battered tourism industry. Hotels have reported a jump in bookings, with 70% of them from visitors from the Middle East, Europe, the UK and Asia. Thailand is expecting 200,000 foreign tourists to visit this year, and five million travellers in 2022. Despite the reopening, some businesses said COVID-19 restrictions are making it hard for them to bounce back. A ban on alcohol consumption after 9pm remains in place.
