Teaching kids anything about science may not be easy, but you can make it more and easy to learn by practical methods.

Today we are trying a new experiment we call, "Put out that fire", which includes one of the three elements away to stop combustion to occur.
(Combustion is a chemical reaction that occurs when heat, oxygen and fuel are present.)

Here’s what you need:
- ½ cup Vinegar (any kind will work)
- 1-2 tbsp Baking Soda
- Candle
- Matches

1. Place baking soda in a glass or a cup
2. Light the candle and place it carefully on top of the baking soda
3. Quickly add the vinegar drop by drop using a dropper
4. You can place one hand on the top of the cup to keep the gas from escaping
5. As you slowly pour the vinegar over the baking soda, you will see the flames extinguishing.

This reason why this happens is that the baking soda and vinegar together create a chemical reaction and for CO2 gas. which pushes the oxygen away from around the candle causing the fire to extinguish.
