Jessica Wapner is a science writer whose work focuses primarily on the science, medicine and social factors determining disease and health. Her articles have appeared in Scientific American, Slate, Mosaic, Aeon, Science, Nature Medicine, and the New York Times, among others. Her book, “The Philadelphia Chromosome – A Genetic Mystery, a Lethal Cancer, and the Improbable Invention of a Lifesaving Drug,” was published by The Experiment in 2013 and was named as one of the top ten nonfiction books of 2013 by the Wall Street Journal. Ms. Wapner has previously served as founding editorial director and managing editor for the medical journals Clinical Advances in Hematology & Oncology and Gastroenterology & Hepatology.
