Hello dancers and welcome to this prenatal Bellydance sequence for beginner-level dancers and beyond.
This sequence was designed with Optimal Maternal Positioning in mind, using transitional movements to mobilise and balance the pelvis and allow Baby the opportunity to move into a favourable position for birth. Pelvic alignment and mobility are key factors in a smooth birth, and Bellydance during pregnancy and labor can help to support this. I used these transitional shapes throughout pregnancy and during labor and found them so soothing, even during the first part of my second daughter's very intense 45-minute birth.
Seek guidance from your obstetric care provider as to whether or not this sequence is right for you before following this video, and please listen to your body and only do what feels good.
