In today’s video I take you through how I connect my Garmin watch with the online running platform, Zwift. I use a Garmin Forerunner 734xt, a Garmin Footpod, a USB ANT+ sensor, and a laptop. Whilst it is a lot of work to get it set up I find Zwift really does enhance running on a treadmill.
Zwift is free for those just using it for running, so go ahead and try it now. There are currently lots of training plans available as they’ve opened up this year’s Zwift Academy.
This set up uses ANT+ not Bluetooth. The Garmin forerunner 735xt does not connect to any bluetooth sensor, and is unlikely to be able to. You can use Bluetooth footpods to connect to Zwift, but you cannot then get that information into your Garmin connect app. So if you want all your training to go together in the same app this is the way for you.
