This song, "Pure Imagination" by Gene Wilder, holds the title of the most exquisite melody I have ever encountered in any film. I am delighted to dedicate this performance to my dear British friend, @grahamtwist. I am aware of our shared admiration for the works of the esteemed writer Roald Dahl, as well as our mutual affection for this particular movie and its enchanting song!
In my arrangement, I have chosen to present the initial section with a tender single-note solo, using a warm and gentle registration on the organ. For the repeated second part, I opt for a poignant solo, employing a Krumhorn with a Tremulant. This composition, composed in the key of Eb, poses a challenge due to its intricate chords, chord changes, and chord selections. In each measure, there are various chord options, each contributing its own distinct effect to the piece. Overall, I have aimed for a stable, soothing accompaniment with minimal hand movements to maintain a tranquil and serene ambiance.
When I listen to my own performance, my mind drifts away into a world where I am seated by the chocolate river in the chocolate room, indulging in a lollipop, completely free from stress, negativity, pain, sorrow’s or any other troubles. I hope those who listen to my music can experience the same serene escape for a few minutes.
