We would like you to send us your home videos showing us how you are preparing for and celebrating VE Day this year. Our aim is to compile selected videos into a film online showing how we all celebrated VE Day across the world this year. As we are unable to celebrate with our Veterans in person this is a wonderful way to show how we all mark the occasion.

Videos can be short, funny, emotional, perhaps you baked one of our recipes from our VE Day Pack, or are making some decorations, or you and your family are joining in the Nation's toast. If you are doing something special please share it with us.

Some ideas:

• Making some activities or recipes from our VE Day pack.
• Styling your hair in victory rolls.
• Dressing up to look the part or in vintage1940s clothes.
• Having a picnic/ celebrating outside in your garden.
• Making or hanging bunting up outside your house,
• Perhaps your whole neighbourhood is involved.
• Enjoying one of the cocktails from our VE Day pack.
• Decorating your house, garden or dining table.
• Dancing to some of the music on our VE Day playlist.
• Singing along to one of the songs.

All valid entries will be submitted into a prize draw where you could win an Annual Pass to Bletchley Park and a goody bag from the Bletchley Park Shop available when we are open to the public.

Closing date for video entries is 11 May 2020

• You can video simply using your phone, but if you can, try to turn your phone sideways so it is landscape!

• By sending us your video you agree to us using it across our social media channels and website. Please include your full name and contact details and names of anyone that appears in your film.

• Make sure you have permission from anyone that appears in your film and that they also agree for the video to be used online across social channels and our website.

• Try not to add any effects, filters or text.

• Please don’t add any music otherwise we simply can’t use it.

• Please send the highest resolution you can.

• Videos must be a minimum of 30 seconds long and a maximum of 5 minutes long.

• Family friendly videos only.

About Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park is a vibrant heritage attraction and museum, open daily to visitors.

It was the home of British World War Two codebreaking; a place where technological innovation and human endeavour came together to make groundbreaking achievements that have helped shape the world we live in today.

This unique site was previously a vast Victorian estate, where parts including the Mansion still survive, expanding during wartime to accommodate Codebreakers Huts and Blocks.

During World War Two, the Government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS), now known as the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), was based at Bletchley Park. It grew from a small team of specialists to a vast intelligence factory of thousands of dedicated women and men. This extraordinary combination of brilliant and determined people and cutting-edge technology contributed significantly to Allied victory. In tough conditions, they provided vital intelligence and developed pioneering technological innovation that had a direct and profound influence on the outcome of the war.

The site continues to reveal secrets and tell fascinating stories of our national legacy.
