"Why does my baby wake 45 minutes after bedtime in the evening?"
In this video Amanda answers this very common question!
The main reasons a baby will wake one sleep cycle after bedtime are:
➕Their nap structure needs some tweaking and maybe their last nap of the day is too long or too close to bedtime meaning they're not quite tired enough to go into the night time sleep cycles.
➕Or they're under tired and they're treating bedtime as another nap.
➕ They might be very overtired and are struggling to go into the next sleep cycle.
➕For babies over 4 months it might be a settling related wake - your baby might be needing you to resettle them into another sleep cycle if they have a very strong parent-controlled sleep association.
➕For younger babies hunger can cause this wake, especially during growth spurts of times of cluster feeding.
➕A wake like this can also be an indicator of sickness.
