Jonathon Day is an associate professor at the White Lodging and J.W. Marriott Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University. In this video, he explains the tourism opportunity solar eclipse events can provide to small towns and other destinations. On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will pass over a large stretch of the eastern United States, including Indianapolis. Eclipses attract visitors from all over the country and the world to view this unique cosmic event. Day says the 2024 eclipse will give destinations in the path an opportunity to showcase the experiences and attractions of the local area. Small towns and even larger cities have the chance to show off what their location has to offer and hopefully convince visitors to come back in the future.
