The rhomboids are a group of 2 rhomboid shaped muscles located between the scapula & spine in the mid back as part of the shoulder girdle
The rhomboids lie deep to the trapezius, & superficial to the erector spinae. The rhomboid major is larger but inferior than the minor, although they are difficult to distinguish individually.
The rhomboid minor originates at the Spinous processes of C7-T1 and inserts at the Upper medial border of the scapula
With the rhomboid major originating at the Spinous processes of T1-T5 and inserts at the Medial border & inferior angle of the scapula
The primary concentric actions of the rhomboids includes Scapula elevation & retraction
