Bath-Sarim, or "House of Princes," was built around 1929 as a luxury residence for Joseph Rutherford, one of the early presidents of the Watch Tower Society. His excuse for living in such an opulent house was partly that he was keeping it in trust for bible characters known as the "ancient worthies" (King David, Abraham, Samson, Moses, etc.), who would share the property with him once they were resurrected shortly before Christ's kingdom rule over the Earth.
8 million Jehovah's Witnesses currently believe that Rutherford was one of the earliest members of Christ's "faithful and discreet slave" class, today identified as the "Governing Body," who take the lead in God's earthly organization.
