CAPTION: The Taliban is claiming responsibility for deadly suicide attacks that have killed at least 17 people in the heart of Kabul. A Taliban spokesman says the five suicide bombers conducted the attacks on two residential hotels used by foreigners in Afghanistan. (Feb. 26)

"The number of those who have been killed and martyred is 16 and those wounded is 38. Among the martyrs and those who were killed are three policemen. Although there are 11 bodies whose identities have not been cleared yet and it is not clear whether they are Afghan or foreigners but we will try to confirm who they are. Anyway in total three policemen have been identified and one Afghan civilian was killed."
