These signs are everywhere. The object marker signs mark hazards, obstructions, and other fixed objects on the road and tell drivers on which side to pass safely.
To know on which side of the sign to pass, imagine pouring a kettle of water on the hash marks. The side of the sign where the water pours off the sign is the side on which you pass.
There are 3 signs:
1) pass on right;
2) pass on the left;
3) pass on either the right or the left.
