Every year after the snow melts I purchase four gallons of chlorine and bleach our wooden fence. Adding some cheap soap helps the chlorine stick to the wood so it can work its magic. Make sure you spray down your lawn and any plants with the hose before and after to prevent any damage. Also spray down the fence with water 5-10 minutes after you have applied the chlorine. This will prevent any white residue after the fence dries. It is also best to do this towards the end of the day when the fence is not being blasted by the sun.
