An Israeli airstrike in Gaza destroyed several homes on Sunday, killing 42 Palestinians, as hostilities entered their second week amid increasing international calls for a ceasefire.
Palestinians searched for survivors in Gaza Sunday, after an Israeli airstrike destroyed several homes and killed dozens, including at least 10 children - according to health officials - as Hamas militants fired rockets at Israel with no end in sight to seven days of fighting.
The Israeli military said in a statement that the civilian casualties were unintentional, saying its jets attacked a tunnel system used by Hamas, which collapsed, bringing the homes down.
Hamas, the militant group that controls Gaza, called it a "premeditated killing."
BENJAMIN Netanyahu has said that military operations in Gaza will continue with “full force” as harrowing pictures showed children being pulled from rubble in the Palestinian enclave.
The Israeli PM’s warning came after 42 Palestinians are reported to have died following an overnight airstrike that crushed three buildings.
