Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan arrived at the Kerala Secretariat to pay last respects to former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. CM Pinarayi Vijayan laid a wreath and consoled the grieving family in Darbar Hall of the state secretariat.
“Despite our political differences, we shared a good friendship right from the start. He possessed the remarkable ability to be friendly with everyone, regardless of their affiliations. Oommen Chandy was undoubtedly the pillar of the Congress party, eventually emerging as its unquestioned leader. His passing is a significant loss to the people of Kerala and an irreparable loss to the Congress party in these challenging times,” CM expressed while offering his final tributes.
Large crowd gathered at the Darbar Hall to pay respect to the veteran Congress leader. Oommen Chandy passed away at 4.25 am on July 18 in Bengaluru at the age of 79.
