A successful recruiting process results from understanding why you are recruiting employees and the type of employees you need. Too often, managers have an opening and immediately pull together a recruitment advertisement to send off to the local newspaper or to post on the Internet. They do this without giving much thought to what they are doing or why they are doing it. “Have an opening, fill it,” seems to be the mentality.
A successful organization recognizes that it is important to recruit both internally (within the organization) and externally (outside the organization).
