Another of those upbeat-attitude Depression Era tunes, composed by Harry Woods and Billy Hill (under a pseudonym). Especially popular in England, the song became most commonly identified with the Ambrose-Elsie Carlisle recorded version, which was featured in the opening scene of Dennis Potter’s 1978 television miniseries “Pennies From Heaven” and later also heard in the 1981 theatrical adaptation starring Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters (listen here: [ Ссылка ] ).
Transferred from 78rpm Regal MR-638 - The Clouds Will Soon Roll By (Woods-Brown) by Billy Cotton and His Band, vocal by Cyril Grantham, recorded in London August 24, 1932 .
