I have always had a complicated relationship with my hometown, Bangkok.
I always felt like a foreigner in this town despite having been born and raised here.
There are so many things I love about this city though: The comfort, the food, the people, the convenience of these gigantic malls and my apartment.. Ohh I really loved living in my luxury apartment.
But I’m starting to realise how the ability to get everything I want when I want them have been doing more harm than good. Big cities have gotten me accustomed to the ability to manipulate nature. With the visual absence of the majestic mountains and deep blue sea I often forget how insignificant we are as human beings. When you are engulfed in nature, you remember how small you are. The waves don’t ever stop crashing onto the rocks and you don’t really have control over which direction the wind blows.
Here's my first step towards living a more minimal and intentional lifestyle.
