This is a Molecular Dynamics simulation of a DPPC bilayer, cholesterol, and water, using coarse-grained MD simulations with GROMACS and MARTINI. Water (white), DPPC lipids (cyan), and cholesterol (yellow) are mixed randomly in a box. As the simulation progresses, water and fat (lipids+cholesterol) separate to create a lipid bilayer.
