Today on 9th August, the world celebrates International Day of Indigenous People designated by the United Nations. In India, as we celebrate Vishwa Adivasi Diwas (World Tribal Day) we celebrate the life and works of a legendary tribal leader who celebrates his birth anniversary today as well.

The following video is a tribute paid to the Varli Adivasi (tribal) leader Bhikhubhai Vansa Bhimra who made phenomenal contributions in to the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli by holding many prestigious social and political posts during his lifetime as:

Bhikhubhai Bhimra a visionary and courageous person always strived to transform the lives of tribal and other people living in the territory. His words, teachings and principles aimed towards welfare for all. Considering Education as a strong tool for development, he carried out various developmental works. As progress demands sacrifice and strong wil; Bhimra never backed down and always rose to the occasion. His works are as monumental as his generous nature.

Today, we pay our deepest tribute and respect to this great personality.
